Jack Lakes became a pop-rock icon before his tragic passing. And the only thing he gave his daughter before abandoning her and her troubled mom, Mary, was a song, “Magical She.” Now, 18-year-old Charlotte is left with a dream... a dream of attending the Leeman Songwriting Conservatory and a dream of eluding her dad’s legacy. In the year following high school, Charlotte is working two jobs to save for Leeman. However, with the 20-year anniversary of Jack’s hit debut album being celebrated with a tribute concert, Charlotte must choose to evade his name at every corner or face the pain of his abandonment and take part in the tribute.

Even while using her hypnotic music performances as an emotional outlet, Charlotte is consistently challenged both in her dreams and in her reality with Jack... where she realizes the memories of the father she thought she knew might not be entirely reliable. SYNOPSIS Director

They’ve managed teams large and small creating visual works across multiple mediums and industries. Recently, they served as Series Creators and Executive Producers for the first two seasons of the award-winning docuseries, Our Wedding Story, for the network UPtv.

Nick and Colin met in a band while studying music in college. Music has always been at the forefront of their friendship, business ventures, and storytelling aesthetic. Taking from their experience working on large-scale million-dollar commercials down to micro-budget short films, they’re thrilled to tell this specific story and bring SINGING IN MY SLEEP to market.
